I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
